FEATURED WORK
1844-1923. The Memoir of Carl August Doehring
Carl August Doehring is my husband’s great-grandfather. In 1923, he wrote a memoir documenting his life & his involvement with the early Catholic Apostolic Church, where he eventually became an Apostle. Carl’s daughter-in-law, Hedwig Maria Wagner Doehring, transcribed it in the 1980s. I found it in her files and translated it in 2010. Understanding the shifting geography, the Prussian Postal Service and the detailed vernacular of the Catholic Apostolic Church took considerable effort. I have included those extensive notes in advance of the memoir.
